I am Jernej Pirc. Woodworking appeals to me because it brings careful planning, technical problem-solving and hands-on work together. Tehnoinstitut is where I document what I build, how I organise my workshop and what I learn along the way.
What you will find here
The subjects come directly from practical work: making better use of limited workshop space, choosing the right clamps and tools, understanding materials and following ambitious projects from the first cut to the finished piece.
How I approach recommendations
Personal experience is identified as such. When an article relies on technical specifications or external research, I make that distinction clear. I do not claim to have tested a tool when I have not used it myself.
Tehnoinstitut is an independently run woodworking and workshop publication. Despite its name, it is not a research institute, certification body or testing laboratory.
